Acceptance

Writer: KayKay

Acceptance, what a terrifying, yet necessary way of life. I really do think acceptance can be one of the harder things in life. It can come in many forms, from happy to angry to sad to new beginnings. It truly can be horrible and dreadful, but can also be one of the most beautiful things in life.

Maybe in life the most beautiful things can also be terrifying, or scary, but in the end always work out. I have found that the harder and more beautiful things in life take longer to come about, and trust me they don’t just appear. That’s why everyone says the annoying saying of “good things take time.”

Well as annoying as it might sound it is true, you have to get through the hard shit to get to the good shit.

I am really going off topic, but the acceptance of my life is tough. It is not something I want to face, but I have to realize that in order for the future to be better I have to go through the mud and work for it. (As they say in cycling, we're getttin stickyyy) And don’t get me wrong I have moved on and accepted certain things in my life because there is no need to dwell on the past, but also there is no need to ignore it.

And that acceptance did not happen overnight.

I used to keep everything shut in, as if my real feelings were locked up. I later realized that one day it would all build up, and I would explode. So I adapted. It took a damn long time, but it also takes practice, self help. Accepting the hard things in life or accepting certain things about people are not fun, but they are things that need to happen. For some people they may never accept certain things in their lives, and use other things to fill that void. Others grow, and become better each day.

You just have to keep remembering that every soul is on their own journey and YOU are the only person in charge of changing your life, and being happy.

xx Kay
